The male gaze, redux

Been thinking about the phenomenon of the male gaze, and how its construction has shifted over the years since Laura Mulvey's "Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema" was written. Specifically, television shows like "The Bachelor", which features slo-mo footage of the new, improved, studlier iteration jogging, jiggling, bouncing, and showering... In a nominally heterosexual context. I've just started a new series on these images. Thoughts?
